(02/14/04) WHITE PLAINS - The Royal Hanneford Circus is
back in town at the County Center in White Plains. While some families came
to enjoy the show, others showed up to protest the circus performers' use of
performing animals such as elephants and tigers.
The protesters gathered outside the "big top," saying
they are concerned the animals are not treated well in circus troops. News
12 Westchester's cameras were not allowed to film the animals, but circus
officials say state officials check all the animals upon arrival and
departure.
The Royal Hanneford Circus runs through Monday,
President's Day, at the County Center in White Plains.
