Events 137 SPECIES FALL TO EXTINCTION EVERY DAY ON THE EARTH: "WILDLIFE AND THE ENVIRONMENT ACTION DAY" CONTACT: TAFFY WILLIAMS,
[email protected] New York Whale and Dolphin Action League White Plains, NY On Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004 several environmental and
animal protection groups will join for a program of discussion, food and
film, entitled "Wildlife and the Environment Action Day," presented by the
NY Whale and Dolphin Action League. This event will be held at the
Headquarters of WESPAC Foundation, 255 Martin Luther King Blvd, from 4 - 8
p.m. Among other topics, NY Whale and Dolphin Action League will discuss the
exploitation of sea animals in 'theme' parks; The Committee to Abolish Sport
Hunting will discuss efforts to coexist with geese and deer in the face of
urban sprawl; Animal Nation will present ideas for environmental and
wildlife rehabilitation; and Animal Defenders of Westchester will discuss
the effects of factory farms on the environment. At 6:00 p.m. we will screen THE PELICAN MAN, the thrilling story of a
rehabber who saves thousands of birds each year. At 7:00 pm we are showing
PEACEABLE KINGDOM, the heartwarming story of rescued farm animals at Farm
Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, and their lives before rescue. A delicious vegan
feast will be served, and a vegan basket of goodies will be raffled off. |
