Letters Rodeo letter-NY Newsday Published
in NY NEWSDAY, 4/30/05
www.nynewsday.com : *Note: ADOW does not refer to animals as 'it' - this was changed by
the newspaper: Cruel rodeos Bullriding and other rodeo events are now coming into parts of New York.
Please educate yourself before patronizing this blatant cruelty: For bullriding, the animals travel to the site in hot, crowded cattle
cars, usually without food or water. In the chute, the otherwise peaceful
animal, frightened and disoriented, is taunted by "cowboys" hitting it
with poles and electric prods, or twisting its tail, to make it appear
"wild." Other rodeo events are just as inhumane. Animals feel pain and fear
exactly like people do. Kiley Blackman Yonkers Fair Use Notice: This document may contain copyrighted material whose use has not been specifically authorized by the copyright owners.
