Animals In Print
The On-Line Newsletter

From 11 January 2004 Issue

In a major victory, Victoria’s Secret, which once peddled rabbit-fur lined lingerie, has gone fur-free this holiday season! All of its garments in the current catalog and website are either fur free or fabricated of faux fur only. Unfortunately, however, another retailer has fallen into the fur trim trap. NBC TV has been selling fox and rabbit-fur trimmed garments on its shopping website,  In fielding emails from horrified consumers, the website’s buyer has replied, “We don't intend to sell any "all over" real fur coats. However, we do want to be leaders in fashion and trends and fur and faux fur (in general) are big fashion items for fall 2003.”  This excuse is little response to the forty million animals who are clubbed, gassed, and anally electrocuted for the fur industry, which makes 46% of its profits off fur trim!

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

THANK Victoria’s Secret for going fur-free this holiday season!

Urge ShopNBC to STOP peddling fur garments. Let them know that “fashion” is no excuse for animal cruelty!
