WARNING Kaopectate Changed Ingredients
The manufacturer of Kaopectate has changed the active ingredient to bismuth subsalicylate.
Salicylates (e.g., aspirin) in pepto bismol and now kaopectate) should not be administered to cats. Some dogs are sensitive to salicylates.
It is no longer safe to use Kaopectate for dogs or for cats at home. Pepto Bismol is also no longer recommended, also due to a change in formulation.
Consult your vet first!
