A Dog and A Vet
Dog: Please help me human. I hurt and I am scared. Please do something to take this terrible pain away.
Vet: Why of course dog. I am a doctor and I help sick animals who need me. You don't have to fear me, for your guardian would never bring you to me if I were not a good person.
Dog: What will you do to me to make me feel better?
Vet: You have a broken spine dog. Your guardian wishes for me to put you to sleep to end your suffering. But I will just keep you around for a while.
Dog: I trust you because you said that doctors like you are supposed to help us when we hurt.
Vet: Sometimes dog, when your guardians leave you here, things are different. Like the other animals in here, you must be very careful not to make me angry.
Dog: Well I am scared but I will try my hardest to be obedient for you. I really am a good dog but sometimes I will cry like I am now because I hurt so much.
Vet: I want you to know that your crying is already annoying me. Dog you must shut up NOW!
Dog: Oh no! I am sorry, please be patient with me. When this hurt goes away it will be a lot easier for me to be good and not cry. You will see how quiet I really am when I am not scared and hurting. But right now I just can't help it.
Vet: Dog you have made me very angry. I will have to punish you now. You see dog I have control over you now because your guardian is gone. You are in my hands now and nobody will ever know what I do to you. Stupid dogs like you who won't listen to me really frustrate me.
Dog: But you are a doctor and you are not supposed to hurt me. My spine is broken and I cannot run away from you. OUCH! PLEASE STOP, YOU ARE HURTING ME! OH PLEASE DOCTOR STOP HITTING ME IT IS MAKING ME HURT SO MUCH MORE! PLEASE STOP IT HURTS SO BAD! I NEVER DID ANYTHING BUT CRIED! I WANT MY GUARDIAN TO COME BACK! I ONLY WANTED YOU TO HELP ME, NOT GET MAD!
Vet: You are a stupid dog and you made me VERY MAD! Shame on you for doing this to me dog. See that cat over there? He would not sit still when I was trying to help him. I knocked him over the head with a pair of scissors. Animals that cry and wiggle too much are annoying and they are bad animals who need punished! When you do this to me you make my job so much harder and then I become very angry.
Dog: But why doctor? I only cry from the pain that I feel just like you would. How would it make you feel if you were hurting and your doctor used his bare hands to hurt you even more just like you did to me?
Vet: Oh but dog that would never happen. See humans have more rights than animals. With animals, people either don't care because you are just an animal or they won't believe such a nice man like me would ever be so cruel to an animal.
Dog: I really must be a stupid and annoying dog. How foolish of me to cry so much when you told me not to. I am very bad. Please forgive me doctor it was my fault. Will you promise not hurt me anymore now?
Vet: I cannot promise you that dog. Nor can I promise the cat I will not hit him again for wiggling too much. You see dog, as long as nobody knows about it then I can keep on doing it. If anyone tells on me, well of course nobody will believe because of who I am. Only you see my rage because it is you who makes me angry.
....You are just a stupid dog who makes me frustrated.
