Virginia Beach Dolphin tank plan dropped
Washington Post piece
Sometimes it can seem like nothing but bad news comes across our computer screens. But yesterday I got news that was so good it moved me to tears. Local groups such as "Dolphin Liberty" and national groups such as PETA and the HSUS have been working to stop plans for an addition of a dolphin tank to the Virginia Marine Science Museum in Virginia Beach. Many of us wrote letters, signed petitions and participated in newspaper polls voting against the tank. Our efforts were not in vain. The project has been dropped.
You'll find a short piece about it in the Thursday, March 1, Washington Post, page 3. It is online at:

Dolphin tanks
This is a perfect opportunity for a quick note to the Washington Post, letting the editorial page editor and perhaps the Washington Post readers know how you feel about dolphins in captivity.
