Bow Hunting season for deer in our area of New York State commenced 16 Oct 2010.

The next day, Sunday, Oct 17, a white housecat was found with an arrow through her entire body in Red Hook, NY (Dutchess County). The animal is a docile beloved family pet. Her owners are heartbroken.

Thankfully, the veterinarians were able to save her life, but it is unclear whether all the damage caused by the arrow will heal.

A $200 reward is being offered for information leading to the positive identification of whoever shot this cat, which bears no resemblance to a deer.

Please contact Police Officer Ryan Chase at 845-758-6780 or by email to:  with any information you may have about the arrow and/or the person involved.
