POETRY READING AND FILM SHOWING TO BENEFIT ANIMALKIND'S HOMELESS KITTIES
Gerard Malanga's Film "Notebooks" and poetry reading.

Tickets are $25.00Gerard Malanga, also called "the right hand of Andy Warhol", filmmaker, The film "Notebooks" consists of extremely rare footage. Here we have Bob Dylan and Gerard Malanga in a close encounter. Eddie Sedgwick putting on make-up, Salvador Dali strutting around the "Factory"; Jack Smith; Cecil Beaton and Andy Warhol in quick flashes; The velvet Underground, Donovan, Jane Fonda and Roger Vadim happily married as mentor and muse. These sequences are counter pointed by a soundtrack consisting of excerpted tracks from the music of Angus McLise, the legendary poet/composer and Gerard's close friend.

He is the author of a dozen poetry books, spanning a forty-year period. He was Warhol's chief assistant from 1963 to 1970 and was a major influence on many of the paintings and films in Warhol's studio. He also starred in several of Warhol's early films and was a co-founder of "Interview" magazine. In addition to his published poetry, Mr. Malanga has published two books of his own photography and his photographs have been shown all over the world.

The film showing and poetry reading will take place on Sunday, 4/29, 7:00pm to 8:00pm, at Time and Space Limited, 434 Columbia Street, Hudson.Twenty-dollar tickets for the event will be on sale at the door and, in advance, at Animalkind's Aristopets Shop, 721 Warren Street, Hudson. Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care. Adoption to homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged. We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals.
