WINTER WALK

Hudson, NY, held its annual town-wide "Winter Walk" on Saturday, December 1, during which stores stayed open late and Warren Street, Hudson’s mile-long commercial district, transformed into a festive thoroughfare with twinkling lights, brightly decorated shops, horse-drawn wagons, live reindeer, a Victorian gentleman on stilts, African drummers, carolers, hula hoppers and ballroom dancers, a knight in shining armor and his lady, as well as a legion of other characters and performers.

And, oh yes......the people and kitties of Animalkind welcomed the revelers on Saturday night, December 1st.

This was a good opportunity to introduce potential adopters and supporters to the many wonderful animals available for adoption this December. As in prior years, we expect that in the next few weeks, people will return with more interest in adopting.

Animalkind Inc. is a not-for-profit welfare, protection, rescue, rights organization dedicated to the compassionate care and humane population control of abandoned, feral and stray cats in Hudson, New York (Columbia County) and the surrounding area. We promote non-lethal prevention of an unwanted litter or litters of kittens through trap, spay, neuter, release (return), (tnr, TNR). An altered cat or kitten is released into a managed colony. Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care. Adoption to homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged. We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals.
