How Can I Help?

Planned Giving

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." - Mahatma Gandhi

Over five million pets are euthanized each year in the United States. Animalkind Inc. is working to change the way people treat these precious animals so that this senseless loss can one day end.

Establishing a planned gift is an important way to leave a legacy of your compassion for animals and to help build sustained resources at Animalkind Inc. Planned gifts ensure we can continue our vital work in animal rescue, humane education and feline care for years to come.

Planned giving opportunities can easily integrate a charitable gift into a donor's overall financial, tax and estate planning goals. Making a planned gift can maximize benefits to both the donor and Animalkind Inc.. Planned gifts typically come from a donor's assets rather than income, and these gifts can be either outright or deferred.

It is highly recommended that donors consult with their own tax or legal advisors prior to making a planned gift. If you are ready to create your own legacy for animals, please read more about the following options:

Animalkind, Inc. is in need for vital support for programs through bequests, gifts, residual pension benefits and other testamentary gift arrangements.

Specify either a fixed amount or a percentage of your estate and include Animalkind Inc. as contingent beneficiary in your will and in your retirement and life insurance programs (in the event your intended heirs predecease you). There is no limit on federal estate tax deductions for charitable contributions.

Suggested Wording for Bequests:

Please inform us when you have made us a part of your estate plans so we that we can add your name to the Society.

Life Insurance Gifts

If you no longer need life insurance, consider donating the policy to Animalkind Inc.. This will give you a charitable tax deduction for the approximate cash surrender value of the policy and help you to further our mission to help animals.

You can also use a life insurance policy to create a legacy for Animalkind Inc. as beneficiary or contingent beneficiary. To change this, you would need to complete a change of beneficiary form with your life insurance company.

Real Estate Gifts

Real estate that you own may have appreciated so significantly in value that its sale would create a substantial tax burden. By making a gift of real estate to Animalkind Inc., you may be able to avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value of the property. It is also possible to make a gift of your primary residence or second home while retaining an exclusive life estate so that you can continue to use the home for the rest of your life while obtaining great tax and estate planning benefits. Animalkind Inc. reserves the right to evaluate each real estate gift before acceptance.
