From Zack - 5 June 2005
The road from Hudson to Great Barrington was a long one for Suma.
After handling the momentary onslaught of the fiery furnace of a sun-baked automobile, she then malcondentedly endured the bone-rattling grind of a worn wheel bearing, meowing her disapproval until she and Zack finally arrived home. A hearty meal of dried cat food served in her own brand-spanking-new dish rejuvenated her spirits, and Suma then decided it was time for a playtime with one of her new owners.
Speaking of new owners, Zack then noticed that he was five minutes late to pick Sara up from work! Zack dashed out the door after giving Suma one last scratch behind her ears, promising to return within an hour.
True to word, both Sara and Zack returned 30 minutes later to spend an entire night snuggling with their new kitty cat. Good times for all.
Over the next few days, Suma has begun truly settling into her new home, wowing all of Sara and Zack's guests with her charming personality and genuinely affectionate disposition. When not napping or snacking from her bowl, Suma follows Zack around as he does his daily chores, offering to lend a paw whenever possible (except with those darn dishes!).
She also has an uncanny love of the television, though this is mostly restricted to Jerry Orbach and Sam Watterson's witticisms in Law and Order (she finds baseball rather boring - go figure).
Whenever Sara and Zack return, she makes certain to return their hellos with her own meow, then, of course, cuddles up with their exhausted bodies as they shut down for the evening. A wonderful animal - both Sara and Zack are truly happy to have her in their lives.
Stay tuned for more news (if Zack's writers' block leaves) and pictures (when Sara's around to figure the camera).
