From Misty & Mom (Kathy) - 3 January 2008
Dear people at Animalkind. Just sending you a big Meow from my new home in New Englishtown, New Jersey.
We had a long, but fun and comfy ride home when my new family adopted me. My first night I spent exploring every nook and cranny of my new surroundings and than settled in for the night in my very own bedroom. My mom Kathy gave me my own toy, a very soft dinosaur, who I sleep and cuddle with often. I also surprised my Kathy on the first night home. She called me and said "give me a kissy" and I went right up to her and bumped heads and kissed her nose. Now we play Kissy Kissy a lot and she even rubs my tummy and than we fall asleep together with our heads touching, snuggled up together. My Kathy told me to tell you what a special kitty I am because last night she felt tired and not so well. I knew before she did and I jumped right up on the bed with her ( which I really never do-but this was a special occasion) because I needed to keep her warm. I stayed with her all day, protecting her and anytime I felt she was tired I put my paw on her head and her face to comfort her and even cleaned her nose and eyes to show her how much I love her. We formed a real bond.
Best of all are all the toys! I am starting to feel very much at home and I am getting lot's of love, yummies and attention but I gotta tell ya, I think that first night I was also looking in the rooms for you-a familiar voice or scent of the first mommies that took care of me nearly a month and that's why I want you to know that although I am very happy, I miss you and because of you helping me to get better, you will always live in my heart and mind-every time I cuddle with my dolly I'll remember my warm water bottle and all of you.
Say hello to my pals and tell them I hope they get adopted too, but if not, tell them they are just as lucky to be at Animalkind where all of us foundlings know we are cared for. I am sending you some "kissy-kissy" across the miles. Meow, Misty
My family says hello and sends their thanks to the Guardian Angels of Animals.
P.S. Misty was found abandoned with her kittens at Friar Tuck in Palenville, NY. Thanks to combined efforts of many compassionate people, all were rescued and found loving homes.
