From Alicia - 15 May 2008

Hello Katrin,

I wanted to show you a picture of the kitten we adopted from you 1 year ago. His name is Charlie II, and he is the most adorable cat ever. He loves us so much, and we are so happy to have found him.

I have been very busy in the fight in ending the dog and cat cruelty in China. It has been a very difficult task as the China government refuses to back down. I was able to get 288 signatures for petitions, however in realizing that the only way to end the slaughter of cats in China, is to abandon the Fur Industry. I've had sleepless night with images of cats being skinned alive, and beaten to death. Each night I hug Charlie more. Not to mention Johnny (the black cat) we adopted from Animal Kind as well. Johnny is an avid hunter, but a lazy one as he is very full from eating at home. He just likes the game of cat and mouse. Oh Johnny, what will I do with you! He is very happy and we love him very much. I don't know if you know that I had also adopted Butchie almost now 8 years ago, but I found him in East Greenbush, almost frozen and very feral. I trapped him and put him in my warm basement over the winter. He became trusting of me, and today, he still lives with us. He is not such a toughie now, and is a very gentle giant. Him and Johnny are best of friends, and you can often see them rubbing against each other wherever they are seen together.

Well, the reason that I am writing, is that I am exhausted in my works to help save the cats (and dogs) in China. IT has made me much closer to my own animals, and yet it has also touched my angry side, which I don't see very often. (maybe you can put something on your website about the cats suffering in China...due to the fur farms with no animal regulations. It's horrible.

Regardless, I see we have much work to do in our own back yards, and if you ever need a helping hand, I'd love to help out. I'm a Coordinator by profession, so if you need me to perhaps coordinate a benefit, do computer work, or even Volunteer to help with the cats, rescues or even your store, I am available. My daughter, Kayla, who is 10 loves your cause and is a fashion princess, and would love to help out in your store as well, or with the cats.

You may call upon me at any time in need.

Thanks again.

Alicia Taranto
