Letter From Sara, Zack, Suma, and Moose - 21 Dec 2008

To our friends at AnimalKind,

It has been over three years since we arrived at kitty heaven with the intention of adding a cat to our family. Since then, we have moved clear across the country, Moose has quadrupled in size, and Suma is more beautiful than ever. When we first brought Moose home, Suma was not too keen on sharing us--but now they happily curl up near each other and even share a kiss every once in awhile.

The kitties have been very understanding as we have moved around from place to place. When we decided to move to Washington state, our biggest concern was how to make the trip as easy as possible for them. We absolutely knew we did not want to ship them, sedate them, or stick them in a little box in our car for over a week. After some research, we decided to purchase a pet net, give away lots of our stuff to make room in the car, and create a moving kitty home in the backseat. After some local practice and a little rescue remedy, Suma and Moose were officially the traveling sort. When we made the big trip (11 days on the road!), they were absolute angels. A couple of tips: seatbelt the litter box in (yikes), and all Motel 6's accept pets!!!

When we got to Washington, Suma and Moose made their first canine friends. Suma prefers to ignore them, but Moose loves to get a saliva bath from Bailey, a black lab. He picked up a few tricks from the dogs, and now comes when he's called, howls, and rolls over on his back to have his belly scratched. We're pretty sure he's 50.1% pup!

Thank you for taking care of our kitties until we could find them and bring them home. We spoil them rotten, but otherwise they are well cared for :)

much love,
Sara, Zack, Suma, and Moose.
