I drove to Animalkind in Hudson today from Schenectady and adopted a cat. No fee is charged, however, I did give a donation. I have to say I was quite impressed with the facility as well as the staff there. My son and I spent probably an hour or more there with the animals and staff. They charge no fee but welcome donations. They take very good care of the animals and are very thorough. They called the vet I used while I was there and did a reference check with my vet. The kittens are in cages down stairs and the cats roam freely in the upstairs area. They also have an area on the roof that is fenced in with like chicken wire so the cats can go outside through the window to enjoy the outside without the dangers of roaming freely outside. There were so many wonderful cats and the staff knew them all by name and personality. If anyone truly wants a cat or kitten go see them. No fee is charged and they are up to date on shots and fixed. The staff even clipped the nails of the cat I was adopting as well as put topical flea medication on her prior to me leaving. They also give you a small bag of food. On top of that, you get a 30 day insurance plan in case the animal needs vet care. I think you wil be very pleased. Here is the link to their site: http://www.animalkind.info
Thank you to the staff at animalkind. I would absolutely go back and adopt another cat or kitten!

Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care. Adoption to homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged. We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals.
