From Craig & Lisa - 5 January 2008
To all of the angels at Animalkind,
I just would like to thank you for the wonderful opportunity that my family and I have had to experience the love and affection from these wonderful four legged friends. They have a wonderful sense of adventure as well the most amazing purr you have ever heard. All they have to do is hear your voice and you can hear their purr from across the room. Both of these orange tiger cats are the most delightful little creatures and they were rescued by Katrin from death row in the city. Although they have not had an easy life all they need is love, food, shelter and did I mention love....
Just recently Red which is our two eyed cat stopped eating, his weight fluctuated and he started to have some other health issues. Yet still he continued to purr and loved being talked to and loved. Upon not getting any better a vet was consulted several times and Red continued to get worse. Now his brother (Tinkerbell) who has only one eye and a chronic respiratory condition is as healthy as can be. When he jumps off the counter, where he is not supposed to be, well he is automatically caught do to the fact it sounds like someone dropped a dictionary on the floor. Tinkerbell enjoyed playing with his brother Red, pouncing on him, cleaning his ears for him, dragging the cat toys around the house so he could chase him. Oh yeah, and getting into the freshly carved turkey on the counter.
Red just recently was carried to heaven by the angels he passed on 01/05/08. Although he was not with us for long he will be greatly missed by all of us. He had a very subtle way of getting in your lap without you even noticing. His favorite thing at night was to hop onto the head of the bed and wiggle his way down through the covers and nestle by your feet under the blankets. Red made a spot in our hearts that is forever his. He had a cute little face, beady eyes and the purr that sounded off with pride like a kid who has learned to whistle. Red was happy just to be happy.
In our adventure with Red we had help and support from Animalkind as well as one of the volunteers and her name is Faith. Without Faith we could not have gotten thru this. She made the vet appointments and would take Red if we couldn't and even if we could she would go as well. She saw to it that he had a crate, bolt on bowls and special food so that we could care for him in his time of illness at our home. Faith checked in with us daily to make sure that we were all set and to check and see how Red was progressing. We are thankful that Faith had was there to help us, she kept our spirits up when things did not look good and she reminded us that anything is possible.
So in closing I would like to thank every one at Animalkind who gives time out of there day to help all of the little creatures. We are very fortunate that we got to love Red and are ever so grateful that he has brother Tinkerbell that we still get to love, snuggle, hug and listen to him purr.
Thank you very much for the gift you have shared with us,
Love and Compassion is something we will continue to share with all.

Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care. Adoption to homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged. We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals.
