Casperina found her way home!
Casperina "PJ" who was found last week in Hudson made her way home!
After being missing since the end of February, her family in Schodack, NY gave up hope to ever see her again. Katrin Hecker from Animalkind was called to a stray cat situation last week and found a white, spayed, very friendly (but very dirty) female kitty, starving, roaming through garbage in Hudson.
She was named Casperina and was waiting for adoption at Animalkind's adoption center. On May 1st Katrin visited the Humane Society in Hudson and saw a flyer with a missing white kitty on their bulletin board. She called the owner and they came right all the way to Hudson. A teary welcome, Casperina ( real name: PJ) purred on their lap and everyone was happy! A happy ending for everyone after 2 long month's of hoping and waiting. Schodack is far from Hudson so we assume that either someone picked her up and took her or that she was stucked in a car (since she was dirty w/motor oil).

Animalkind Inc.is a not-for-profit welfare, protection, rescue, rights organization dedicated to the compassionate care and humane population control of abandoned, feral and stray cats in Hudson, New York (Columbia County) and the surrounding area. We promote non-lethal prevention of an unwanted litter or litters of kittens through trap, spay, neuter, release (return), (tnr, TNR). An altered cat or kitten is released into a managed colony. Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care. Adoption to homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged. We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals
