Kennel Rescue - 4 February 2003
Animalkind Inc. Rescue on 2/4/03: (to enlarge the photo of three of the kittens being rescued, click on the photo or link)
A frantic call from a woman who had a dog kennel full of cats (10!) came in to Animalkind on 2/4/03.
She was evicted and moved that moment to a motel, planning to abandon the cats.
The cats were huddling inside the kennel, the kennel was outside in the freezing rain.
Animalkind tried the Humane Society, hoping they could help with at least a few cats, but they had no room.
In desperation, The Catskill Animal Hospital was contacted and even so it was 4:30 PM. Dr. Jenkins agreed to take all 10 cats in, test / spay / neuter & vaccinate them that night, so the cats could be picked up the next day. THANK YOU Dr. Jenkins & Catskill Animal Hospital!!! The staff was, once again, the most helpful and compassionate.
All cats are now in a safe environment (foster homes) and are waiting for a loving home. All kitties are litter-trained and real sweet and affectionate! Ages range from 4 month to 2 years.

Animalkind Inc.is a not-for-profit welfare, protection, rescue, rights organization dedicated to the compassionate care and humane population control of abandoned, feral and stray cats in Hudson, New York (Columbia County) and the surrounding area. We promote non-lethal prevention of an unwanted litter or litters of kittens through trap, spay, neuter, release (return), (tnr, TNR). An altered cat or kitten is released into a managed colony. Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care. Adoption to homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged. We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals (d-12).
