Jessy's start of a Happy Ending? Miracles happen at Animalkind!
We were asked by a kill shelter if we can help Jessy. Jessy is a blind cat that was abandoned at the shelter and had no chance to be adopted and was on the list to be "put down".
We immediately agreed to give Jessy a second chance. When she arrived at Animalkind, she surprised all of us with her loving "cattitude" , but we also noticed she is deaf as well.
Sweet Jessy has only her nose and body as senses for the world around her. She uses the litterbox and greets every touch with a big purr and rub of her head.
Jessy is a happy kitty-happy in her world-but she needs a compassionate human who will give her attention and love what she craves so much.

UPDATE - 13 May 2009
A miracle happened: Jessy's and our prayers were answered: In spite of Jessy's blindness and deafness, an angel opened her heart and home to this sweet kitty!
Below: Jessy meets her new friend and is living now in an adoring home, never alone and never without touch and love.

Animalkind Inc.is a not-for-profit welfare, protection, rescue, rights organization dedicated to the compassionate care and humane population control of abandoned, feral and stray cats in Hudson, New York (Columbia County) and the surrounding area. We promote non-lethal prevention of an unwanted litter or litters of kittens through trap, spay, neuter, release (return), (tnr, TNR). An altered cat or kitten is released into a managed colony. Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care. Adoption to homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged. We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals.
