From World Farm Animal Day

October is Farm Animal Awareness Day, the beginning of World Vegetarian Awareness Month. Over 150 million land animals are killed for food every day...300 individual beings every second. You can do something about it today... and every other day.

World Farm Animals Day takes place on (or around) October 2nd. Itís a time to expose, mourn, and memorialize the unnecessary suffering and slaughter of the more than 50 billion cows, pigs, turkey, chickens, and other sentient animals in the world's farms and slaughterhouses. Observances take place in all 50 U.S. states and two dozen other countries.
