INFORMATION

In the spring of 2008, PETA received complaints and undercover photographs from students at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine concerning deadly procedures that were being performed on animals at the school.

Healthy dogs had their stomachs, intestines, and urinary bladders cut open. Donkeys had their ligaments and tracheas cut, nerves severed in their toes, and their abdomens surgically punctured. The donkeys were then killed so that students could practice amputating animals' bones and drilling into or scraping animals' skulls.

After hearing from thousands of compassionate people, Ross University ended its mutilations of dogs and now is only performing beneficial spay and neuter procedures on these animals. The school's parent company, DeVry Inc., verbally announced that all terminal surgeries on animals at Ross have ended. But neither Ross nor DeVry have put this policy in writing, and healthy donkeys, goats, and sheep are still being needlessly mutilated at the school.

Many other veterinary schools around the world train students without forcing them to perform harmful, invasive, or terminal surgeries on healthy animals. In fact, the law in St. Kitts forbids causing the "unnecessary suffering" of animals, yet at Ross University, healthy animals are needlessly suffering from invasive procedures.

Speak up for the animals who are suffering at Ross University by contacting officials at the school and Devry Inc, Ross University's parent company. Please use the form below to demand that they immediately end all harmful and invasive training procedures on animals.
