Tell US Fish and Wildlife to Protect Elephants from Poaching

• Support a proposal by Kenya and other countries for a 20 year moratorium on trading ivory.
• Oppose the proposals of Tanzania and Zambia to reduce protection for elephants so they can begin trading elephant ivory.

INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS

In March of 2010, the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), made up of 175 countries, will meet to discuss the fate of several animal species that are traded internationally. Among them are elephants and they need our help! The US Fish & Wildlife Service is accepting public comment through tonight and we are asking if you would would please take action immediately.

Please contact the USFWS now, and urge they:
