Wasson INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS As the largest drug store chain in the US, Walgreens has the opportunity to make an difference through their corporate giving program.
Unfortunately, Walgreens has partnered with organizations that continue to use animals in research, including the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Almost $5 million was donated to support efforts to fight cancer, heart disease and diabetes in 2008. Millions of animals are used and suffer needlessly in research every year. According to the FDA, 92% of drugs that show promise in animals fail in clinical trials. Thank you for everything you do for animals! |
