Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS People are buying clothes with "faux" fur under the assumption that because it is unlabeled, it's not animal fur--but some "faux" fur is very real. Tell Governor Schwarzenegger not to keep consumers in the dark--all fur needs to be labeled on clothing. California's A.B. 1656 would correct a loophole that allows fur to go unlabeled on clothing if the value is under $150. Some fur being sold as "faux" is actually dog, rabbit, or other animal fur, usually from China, that lurks under the guise of unlabeled clothing, cheap costs, and bright dyes. Consumers have a right to know what they are buying, and if their purchases support the cruel practices of the fur industry. Don't let fur farms and fur manufacturers benefit from assumptions about unlabeled fur. For more information, read New California Bill Fixes Loophole That Lets Fur Go Unlabeled.
