Thank Lufthansa for No Longer Transporting Dogs and Cats for Experiments
Please thank Lufthansa Airlines for its new policy to NOT transport dogs and cats for experiments. And, urge him to join other progressive airlines like Qantas and Cathay Pacific by enacting a policy against transporting all animals for use in laboratories.

INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS
Less than a day after PETA launched its campaign, Lufthansa announced a new policy prohibiting the transport of dogs and cats to laboratories. We are now pushing Lufthansa to extend its new policy to all animals.
PETA has obtained heartbreaking photos of at least 50 beagles confined to crates and loaded like cargo on a Lufthansa transport plane. The dogs were being sent from Marshall Farms, an animal-breeding facility in upstate New York, to a Charles River Laboratories (CRL) animal-testing facility in Scotland where they will likely be poisoned and killed in drug and pesticide tests.
CRL, one of the world's largest breeders and testers of animals, with laboratories and offices in many countries, condemns tens of millions of animals to confinement, poisoning, mutilation, and death in its own laboratories and those of its customers. Since 2007, the company has been cited for more than two dozen violations of the Animal Welfare Act and was recently fined $14,000 after 32 monkeys were cooked to death when a room at its facility in Reno, Nev., overheated.
By transporting these animals, Lufthansa is facilitating and profiting from the abuse of animals in laboratories and magnifying the trauma that these unfortunate animals experience as they are shipped in terrifying conditions to their gruesome deaths.
Please take a moment of your time to contact Lufthansa vice president Jens Bischof and urge him to join other progressive airlines like Qantas and Cathay Pacific by enacting a policy against transporting animals for use in laboratories.
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
