[Ed. Note: Watch the video to see how the employees at this laboratory treated animals - Brutality at Product-Testing Laboratory. As futile and useless and cruel as animal experimentation is, the added brutality towards animals before and after "experimentation" is absolutely disgusting.]

INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS

It's been nearly six months since the release of PETA's shocking undercover investigation inside North Carolina–based Professional Laboratory and Research Services, Inc. (PLRS), which documented PLRS employees kicking, throwing, and dragging dogs; violently throwing and slamming cats into cages; intentionally trying to rip cats’ claws from their sensitive paws—making them bleed, roughly handling rabbits and lifting them by the ears; and viciously cursing at animals, calling them "asshole," "bitch," and "motherfucker." But the district attorney, whom PETA first met with almost a year ago, has yet to file cruelty-to-animals charges against those responsible for the suffering, abuse and neglect of hundreds of animals.

Conditions at the primitive laboratory were so appalling that just one week after PETA filed a 70-page formal complaint and hours of video footage with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) alleging violations of the Animal Welfare Act, PLRS shut its doors and surrendered more than 200 dogs and cats to animal shelters and rescue groups. But the employees, managers, and owners responsible for this suffering have so far escaped being brought to justice because the district attorney's office has been dragging its feet for months on end.

TEXT FROM ONLINE PETITION

PETA's investigation inside Professional Laboratory and Research Services, Inc. (PLRS), documented that PLRS employees kicked and abusively handled dogs, cats, and rabbits; doused dogs and cats with bleach and other chemicals; and denied dozens of dogs, cats, and rabbits desperately needed veterinary care. It has been almost a year since you learned of this abuse and six months since it was made public.

I respectfully ask you to bring charges immediately against the parties at PLRS responsible for this egregious cruelty to animals. The animals who suffered deserve justice today.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for everything you do for animals!
