Urge Governor Schweitzer to Veto Bad Buffalo Bills
[Ed. Note: Take more action - American Buffalo Need Congressional Help. Please watch Bison Hazing and Bison Slaughter Facility. If you eat beef, you are likely contributing to the capture, torment, slaughter of wild bison. The ONLY reason the bison are captured, tormented, slaughtered is because the cattle industry claims that bison eat grass, thus competing with the cattle. In case you didn't know, this is all done on OUR public lands to OUR wild bison, for the sake of cattle-industry profiteers.]
Tell Governor Schweitzer to veto Montana bills HB 318, SB 174, SB 184, and SB 212. Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer has vowed to veto numerous bills that would harm America's last wild buffalo. Hold him to his promise.
A handful of bills that would damage the wild integrity of America's last wild buffalo are quickly moving through the Montana legislature. Governor Schweitzer has publicly stated that he will veto these bills, and we must encourage him to do so.

SAMPLE LETTER to Governor Schweitzer:
Please hold true to your word and veto the following bills that would harm wild buffalo: HB 318, SB 174, SB 184, SB 212
The tragedy currently befalling America's last wild buffalo in Montana is an issue of national significance and an attack on the natural heritage of all Americans.
Tourism brings $3 billion to Montana's economy every year and Montana's park gateway communities are visited by over 3,640,000 people - with buffalo among the top wildlife to see. Wildlife viewing in Montana contributes nearly $100,000,000 in revenues.
Seventy percent of Montanans favor the restoration of wild bison in Montana, according to a recent poll by Moore Information. In Montana, and across the United States, people want American buffalo roaming free. Montana stands in a unique position to become the only state in the U.S. that could boast a wild, free-roaming population of American buffalo! That is powerful, and something Montana could be very proud of.
These are just a few of the facts signifying that the restoration of wild buffalo in Montana is supported by the state, the country, and strongly benefits Montana's economy. For these reasons alone it is critical that you veto the anti-buffalo bills approaching your desk.
Please keep your promise and veto HB318, SB174, SB184, and SB212.
Thank you. I look forward to hearing that you took right action by prohibiting these damaging bills from becoming law.
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
