INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS

In recent years, the American public has been exposed, through whistleblowing undercover investigations by non-governmental organizations and investigative journalists, to the egregious animal abuse, unsafe working conditions, and environmental degradation happening every day on industrial factory farms.

S.B. 1184/H.B. 1021 is a dangerous bill making it a crime to simply document and blow the whistle on child abuse, animal abuse, drug use, assault, theft, the hiring of illegal immigrants and other illegal or unethical activity on a farm. There’s a need for more transparency on factory farms, not less!

Factory farms need more transparency, not less. Shielding these facilities from whistleblowers undermines food safety, worker safety, animal welfare, and more.

S.B. 1184/H.B. 1021, a controversial bill, turns Florida farms into safe havens for criminal activity. As your constituent, I urge you to oppose this bill.

Thank you for everything you do for animals!
