ACTION

Tell SeaWorld to stop supporting SeaWorld.

Ralphs continues to try and make deals with other businesses in the wake of setbacks that it is experiencing, and unfortunately, the grocery chain Ralphs is now offering discounted tickets to the marine park. PETA has sent Ralphs information about SeaWorld's history of abuse and deaths, but the company has continued its promotions of the marine park.

INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS

SeaWorld continues to try and make deals with other businesses in the wake of setbacks that it is experiencing, and unfortunately, the grocery chain Ralphs is now offering discounted tickets to the marine park. PETA has sent Ralphs information about SeaWorld's history of abuse and deaths, but the company has continued its promotions of the marine park.

SeaWorld is facing a public-relations disaster after the recent release of the documentary film 'Blackfish', which exposes the company's cruel treatment of marine animals for profit. Since the release of the film, numerous publications, including the 'Los Angeles Times', have condemned SeaWorld, and the company has reported a decline in attendance and revenue at its parks. SeaWorld is even having trouble booking performances at its parks, with artists such as Willie Nelson, Heart, Barenaked Ladies, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, and others canceling their scheduled performances.

Many of the orcas at SeaWorld were violently captured from their family pods in the ocean. All are far-ranging animals, traveling in nature as many as 100 miles per day. At SeaWorld, where they live in cramped concrete tanks, they are deprived of the opportunity to engage in almost any type of natural behavior. Because of the constant intense confinement, it's no surprise that they become neurotic, self-destructive, and extremely dangerous in captivity. After the orca Tilikum violently killed trainer Dawn Brancheau at SeaWorld in 2010 (the third person he has killed), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined SeaWorld for violating federal law.

Thank you for everything you do for animals!
