Tell your Senators to OPPOSE an extremist hunting bill (read a Library of Congress summary of its contents here) that passed the House of Representatives last month by a vote of 268 to 154 (see how your representative voted here). A similar bill is now pending in the Senate–please contact your two senators and ask them to vote against S. 1996, the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2014.
Also know that the biggest killing clubs back this bill–Safari Club International and Boone and Crockett Club–as well as the firearms industry.

Eleven senators have cosponsored this bill so far, including Jon Tester of Montana, a champion of toxic lead bullets. If you’ve forgotten about the effects of lead on birds of prey, visit our home page and scroll down to the California condor picture, where you’ll find links to six videos of poisoned birds.
To understand what this dangerous bill will do, read HSUS’s summary here, but do send a message in your own words…it carries more weight. Also know that the biggest killing clubs back this bill–Safari Club International and Boone and Crockett Club–as well as the firearms industry. Montanans–do contact Sen. Tester anyhow and politely let him know that only 6% of Americans hunt – and he is failing to represent YOU.
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
