People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals (PETA)
April 2014
Beavers are highly intelligent, curious, and playful animals who are
extremely beneficial to the health of local ecosystems. However, the Hampton
Pointe Homeowners Association (HOA) in the North Carolina town of Rolesville
has apparently hired a trapper to set lethal snares and/or Conibear traps
(also known as body-gripping traps) to kill them.
Please ask Hampton Pointe HOA officials to remove all traps immediately. If beaver control is insisted upon, urge officials to employ humane methods only.

Beavers are highly intelligent, curious, and playful animals who are extremely beneficial to the health of local ecosystems. However, the Hampton Pointe Homeowners Association (HOA) in the North Carolina town of Rolesville has apparently hired a trapper to set lethal snares and/or Conibear traps (also known as body-gripping traps) to kill them.
Ensnared animals struggle mightily, often injuring themselves terribly in the process, until they slowly strangle. Conibear traps cause extreme suffering as well, fatally crushing their terrified victims to death. Snares and Conibear traps are also indiscriminate, commonly victimizing companion animals and "nontarget" wildlife.
PETA apprised the HOA of all this, but to no apparent avail. Now it's your turn!
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
