From Yvette - 11 Feb 2004 Dear Animal Lovers, Hi. My name is Yvette and I'm 14 years old. I totally hate seeing animals being abused. I think we should respect them because we have hunted them, at one time or another. We have taken over their home and have polluted and damaged their environment! We have domesticated them and should never sell them to slaughter houses or put them out to pasture! Ownership is a two-way-street! We give love to them and they give their life to us. They shouldn't have to go through hell, due to our stupid mistake. Yes, they're animals, but they have gone through so many things for us, loving us, protecting us, and giving their lives for us! We should try to make a difference for animals. I have decided to write a letter to whoever is responsible for laws in the small towns of Texas. I have recently visited a small town called Mission. Where on my vacation saw a mother dog slowly die, due either to mange or starvation. She lasted for at least 7 hours before she died. Her owners were aware that she was dieing, but did nothing of it. Later in the morning they most likely threw her body somewhere and told us that she had run away! I was very angry! I wanted to strangle them! So to help I will write as many letters to the government about slaughter house. However, I can not say the same for cows, sheep, or chickens. I am an animal lover, but I also eat meat. I think God put some animals on this Earth to be eaten, but not to suffer like they do in slaughter houses. SINCERELY, YVETTE (CA) Reply from Frank L. Hoffman Dear Yvette: Thank you very much for your compassionate letter and all that you are doing to end the suffering of horses, but we don't understand why this compassion is not extended to other farmed animals. They all suffer! In the Love of the Lord, Frank Return to Visitors' Comments |
