Moo-ving people toward compassionate living
From Tina Burns - 18 Mar 2004
My name is Tina Burns.
I could not believe my eyes. I never knew that this was going on. I just bought a pmu mare. When I read this I went out there to her and cried. I told her that I was sorry that she went through that and that she would never have anything to worry about any more for the rest of her life. My heart hurts so badly just to look into her soft eyes and to know what happened to her and that itís still going on.
You see I was on the hormone pills until I read this. Never again! I feel like it was partly my fault. Please tell me what I can do to help with these mares and their babies. I have 50+ acres. Iím always home, I feed my horses twice a day, and they have free choice of hay, two barns, four stalls, and are current with all shots. Please let me know what I can do.

Thank you very much for your letter and for your expressions of compassion.
One of the most effective things you can do is spread the word around to everyone you know, and ask them to join you in your efforts to bring this cruelty to an end. You can also refer them to our web site so that they can see for themselves.
Over 30 years ago, we became aware of animal suffering in connection with veal, which we immediately stopped eating. Over the next several years we cut out one animal product after another until we no longer ate or wore any animal product or their secretions.
In the Love of the Lord,
