Moo-ving people toward compassionate living

From Rachel Miller - 23 Oct 2004 I find it horrible. Regrettably, its a sign of the times, as long as people are killing one another they will abuse animals. As a pit bull owner I am very sensitive to the issue, and go with the saying (punish the deed not the breed) my pit loves people and animals, and its sad the way people shy away from her, she does not have a mean bone in her body! Reply from Frank and Mary Dear Rachel: Thank you for writing. We totally agree! Most of the studies we have read seem to indicate that human violence usually begins with animal abuse, because animals can't speak for themselves, and the abusers think they can get away with their abuse. The violence then escalates to humans. This is why it's so important to stop all abuse early, and we are countered by too many socially acceptable forms of animal abuse, such as hunting, fishing, and intensive animal farming practices. Dog fighting is just one aspect of it, and the pits suffer for it. In the Love of the Lord, Frank and Mary Return to Visitors' Comments |
