Moo-ving people toward compassionate living
From Dayna - 7 Nov 2004
I just wanted to add something to your site concerning the PMU mares. Up here in Canada it has been found out the the mare urine drug has been linked in some cases to cancer, as soon as this information got to the public the PMU mare industry came to a stand still. Most if not all of the farms in Alberta have shut down, the unhappy lives the mares lived in the barn is now ended. The only problem now is the mares have nowhere to go, some are getting adopted but the major portion is going to slaughter. One thing ends yet another begins. I don't know how it is in the States however.

Thank you for your comments.
There are also groups here in the United States that do find homes for many of the horses, but unfortunately many of them do go to slaughter.
In the Love of the Lord,
