From Carly - 5 Mar 2005

I used to have two rats and also mice when I was young and they don't deserve this treatment. I'm 16 and I have always been against animal cruelty and I want it to stop.

Animals have feelings too.  How would they like it if people started to dissect humans to find cures but slicing them open when they are conscious; its not fair.  If it has to be done at least put them out of pain.

Dear Carley:

We agree!

The major problem is that mice and rats are not protected under the Animal Welfare Act, and these researchers are free to do anything they want without being accountable for their actions.

We all need to inform the public about this injustice, and demand a change in the law, and hopefully an end to use of animals.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
