From Keya Abraham - 28 May 2003 Please help. Last night in my hometown of La Crosse I saw not one but two big 18 wheelers with a huge open wire trailer jam packed with thousands of turkeys. The sight haunted me the rest of the day and I couldn't sleep last night. They were smashed together in such a way that there is no way they could breath, stand, or even be alive. Where were they headed and why doesn't anyone see that this is so insane? I will contact PETA today. I can't find this Troy Thompson Trucking that was the hauler. I can't even find a turkey place nearby. Please help. I want to do whatever to stop this. Animals can't defend themselves. Thanks, Reply from Frank L. Hoffman Dear Keya: Thank you very much for your email and for your concern for the animals. You are correct; the whole animal agriculture industry is insane. The only way we know of to stop these atrocities is to stop eating animals and to politely encourage as many other people as you can to do the same thing. Also refer them to our web site so they can see the horrors for themselves. If you are ever able to get photos of what you saw, we would be very interested in publishing them. We look forward to hearing from you again. In the Love of the Lord, Frank
