But close by is Woodstock Sanctuary in NY where my fellow activist and friend, Julia, just returned from Thanksliving. What is Thanksliving you ask? It’s a yearly fundraiser/awareness-raiser, a vegan ‘thanksgiving’ celebration to thank the animals and enjoy the bounty of harvest. Squash; cranberries; pumpkin; potatoes; but wait….the animals are your company instead of on your plate. Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary provides shelter to cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, and goats who have been rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Woodstock provides shelter to these animals and serves as an educational facility to teach people compassion for animals as well as the devastating impacts of factory farming.
