Challenging Church Compassion – 19: Chased Away “E”

This is another case where the lack of compassion and hardness of heart in the church chased away a believer and even cause this person to lose some of their faith.

We must keep challenging church compassion, as the church sees it, until it becomes true and unconditional compassion as Jesus taught us.

“E” wrote:

“I know what this disconnect can feel like. I was minded to swap churches this year. Only a year ago I was filled with the Holy Spirit, but now I have turned away, or perhaps I have been chased away. Much has to do with my feelings of hopelessness about the animals.”

This church did exactly what Jesus spoke against in Mark 9:42.

42. “And whoever causes one of these little ones who believe to stumble, it would be better for him if, with a heavy millstone hung around his neck, he had been cast into the sea. (NASB)

“E” continued:

“Did I mention that when there were many demos against cattle transportation in our village? The fruit and veg shop shut down, because of lack of business. I felt guilty for being so openly vegetarian in an animal farming community.”

There is absolutely no reason for “E” to feel guilty for being a vegetarian openly.

We all should be living compassionately for the benefit of the whole of creation, and end its corruption, instead of adding more corruption, pain and suffering.

We all must continue challenging church compassion, until it becomes real compassion.
