I just love this book and the poetry in it. Author is so talented and creative! Perfect to give as a gift to your favorite vegan or to someone else to understand why it’s so important to go vegan today for the animals, the environment, and one’s health. Love it.

An Amazing Collection of Quotes, Raps and Rhymes .Vivian Chinelli has created a masterpiece collection of quotes, raps and rhymes to lift your spirits up and raise your consciousness on the most important movement of our times—the Vegan MOOvement. She has even quoted Vega, the Cow and Climate Healer, the famous Cow in the Room at the UN COP26 meeting in Glasgow, Scotland. This book is a must read for all human beings, especially all of Vivian's former colleagues—kindergarten teachers.

I'm looking forward to what she will create next, perhaps a "Mother Goose and Brothers Grimm Go Vegan"? I can't wait...

Wow! What a difficult topic and how brilliantly tackled!

Yes, I find the topic of veganism extremely difficult, perhaps because I tend to accept some of the “yeh, but….” arguments (see pg. 167 in the book). I find myself in the shoes of the rabbi who had to resolve a dispute between two fighting neighbors. The rabbi heard the first litigant’s case, nodded his head and said, “You’re right.” The second litigant then stated his case. The rabbi heard him out, nodded again and said, “You’re also right.”
Hearing this, the rabbi’s attendant, utterly confused, cried out, “But, rebbe, how can they both be right?”
The rabbi thought about this for a moment and responded, “You’re right, too!”

That being said, Mrs. Chinelli’s arguments for veganism make it very hard to say, “You’re right, too,” to those who one way or another contribute to animal abuse—sadly, myself included.

Mrs. Chinelli is truly passionate about animal rights, walks tall her talk, and does her due diligence in support of her pro-veganism arguments. Moreover, “I’m not vegan, but my cousin is” testifies to her talent as a poet and rapper, as well as her acute sense of humor.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to you, especially if you are willing—even if only for a moment—to think about your eating practices from the vantage point of the well-being of animals as sentient beings, while, at the same time, getting a kick out of the poems and raps.

Love it! Love it! Love it! This book is inspiring, thought-provoking, and creative as it delivers a very important message. Whether you are already vegan, a wannabe vegan, an animal lover, or simply curious, this book is a must. Besides, it's also a whole lot of fun to read.

Kudos to you Vivian Chinelli!

An informative, inspirational book for vegans and non-vegans alike! I'm not a vegan, but I am an animal lover. I was drawn to this book because I also love raps and poems. When I dived in, I learned a lot about respecting animals and the harmful way they are treated and killed. I also believe we are what we eat, so I'm rethinking what I put in my body. All that bad energy cannot be good for the soul! I don't think I'll become a vegan overnight, but I'm closer to considering easing my way in and giving it a try. Read this book! You'll love it! Thanks to Vivian Chinelli for presenting a serious topic in a creative, fun way to inform us all.

Beautiful and thought-provoking poems and rhymes, for vegans, pre-vegans and non-vegans. Starting with a full disclosure—I am the one whom the author Vivian Chinelli mentions in her book as the one who forced her to publish her work. And I am so happy that she surrendered and did it. I am her fitness coach; she always read me her new poems and rhymes, and I just couldn't let her talent get wasted on me only: the whole world needs to read her rhymes and poems.

I have always envied how easily and powerfully she can express her thoughts in poetry. Like she thinks in poetry. Vivian is passionate about veganism and the animals and our environment, and you can feel it through every poem you read.

If you are vegan already, you will love each one because you will recognize the thoughts and feelings we are constantly dealing with.

If you are not vegan (yet) but are curious about veganism, you will also enjoy reading Vivian's poetry tremendously. It will open a new world of thinking about the current world and state of affairs. It may be hard to read sometimes, but I think we all need to hear the truth, as inconvenient as it can be.

And if you are not vegan and never plan to be (I actually became one by an "accident," I wanted to prove them wrong), I think you will also enjoy reading these poems. They will make you understand your fellow vegans and vegetarians and why they are so passionate about their cause.

Obviously, I highly recommend that everybody has this book at home and reads a poem here and there... and every day... That's why I forced Vivian to put all her amazing collection of rhymes on paper. So anybody in the whole world can enjoy reading, and get thinking about the world we live in. I can't wait for her book number 2 to come out. (She doesn't know it yet... but it WILL be coming!)

About the Author

I am a retired kindergarten teacher, proud vegan, passionate animal rights activist, children’s book editor, poet, website creator, and author.

I'm Not Vegan But My Cousin Is consists of 81 original poems and over 100 passionate and provocative and powerful quotes from authors, educators, scientists, animal rights activists, philosophers, doctors, and other well-informed sources.

Propelled by my desire to teach compassion, model empathy, and inspire action, I engage people daily (I try to talk to at least three people a day) in conversations about veganism, life, and values. I believe that veganism is a core value we all share (well, almost all of us) that is opposed to humans causing non-human animals unnecessary suffering and harm. My goal with each conversation, and with my website and book, is to help folks move toward aligning that important core value with their actions.
