The 2004 Ecumenical Animal Welfare Retreat

9-11 July 2004

Come and share a weekend of relaxing, stimulating, enjoyable, animal-friendly time with people of like mind in a comfortable house right in the centre of historic Chester.

Biblical scholar John Eaton and his wife will take us through ‘Animals and Creation in the Psalms’.

Readers of his inspirational The Circle of Creation; animals in the light of the Bible will know to expect food for thought  presented in a highly ‘digestible’ way!

The peaceful Chester Retreat House is in Abbey Square, adjacent  to the  cathedral, enjoying a lovely garden. Parking is  restricted (please give notice if you have to bring a car), but the house is only one minute from the coach station, or you can take a free bus from the train station.

The all-inclusive cost for the weekend has been held at  £89.

Contact the Retreat Secretary, Irene Casey, 21 Bower Crescent, Stretton, Warrington WA4 4NF.

(A s.a.e. is appreciated)  Hurry, before all places go!

If you wish to extend your stay – please contact the manager, Valerie, direct on 01244 321801, or chester.retreat@tiscali.co.uk . Look up www.chesterretreathouse.org/

Calling all artists!

If you paint or draw animals, you can post them onto the new Art Gallery page of our website www.catholic-animals.org . Just send a scanned copy (saved on JPEG) to me at deborahjark@aol.com  and I shall send it to our web hosts. Take a look at what is there!

If you would like to sell any, for animal charities, Artists for Animals will receive donations of pictures, tel: 01902 562463, or email: artists4animals.org.uk

Also poets!

There is so little room in The Ark for all the poems submitted by readers – so now you can have your work published on the internet! There is a page dedicated to animal poetry on our web site www.catholic-animals.org . Just send your verse to me – write Poem for Web in the Subject box, and see your work in cyberspace, shared and enjoyed by readers all over the world.
