CATHOLIC CONCERN FOR ANIMALS Wednesday 13th October
Gloucester Cathedral, Choral Evensong A speaker is being invited and the service is being arranged by the Three Counties Ecumenical Prayer Group for Animals, led by Revd Helen Hall. The service is for the centenary anniversary of Mary Elizabeth Wemyss, for whom there is a brass plaque on the north wall in the cathedral. Ms Wemyss was born in 1816 and died on November 24, 1910. The plaque reads: ‘She devoted her life and means to righting the wrongs
of helpless dumb creatures, and founded the Gloucester and West
Gloucestershire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in
