This photo was taken on Saturday, 4/19/08 after Pope Benedict left St. Patrick's Cathedral on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. I handed out and our flyer and CVA's pamphlet "Are We Good Stewards of God's Creation?". I had a good talk with a vegan atheist who was protesting against his visit. I also talked with a homeless guy who loved animals and didn't like the way some carriage horses he saw mistreated. Some people were attracted to the sign and took information. Meri handed out 600 with her friend. The following day, Sunday, at Yankee Stadium, 600 pamphlets were handed out by a few of us ladies along with our flyer. We talked with some compassionate Priests. We're going to pass out the rest of CVA's pamphlets at some churches here. |
