NJ has launched a comprehensive Statewide campaign for
a immediate BAN on netting & bolting deer.
The net & bolt process entails:
Deer are baited for several weeks to lure them underneath drop nets.
When several deer are present, the net is dropped, trapping them. As
wild and free range animals, they panic and thrash when ensnared, cut
each other with their hooves and often break their legs.
They panic further when approached as they are unused to be handled
by humans (unlike pigs, cattle and other agricultural animals). The deer
scream and bleat and sometimes are so terrorized that they die from
heart failure.
Next, an agent of White Buffalo attempts to restrain the struggling
animals while one fires a 4 inch retractable steel bolt into their
skull. As strong and heavy animals, they struggle and shift often
causing the bolt to misfire into their eye, jaw or nose causing horrible
wounding. The bolt gun must be reloaded in an another attempt to fire
into their narrow skull and kill the deer. Please be aware that
residents on the streets may be subjected to the sights or sounds of the
deer suffering as they do bleat and scream.
Please contact these
state officials and ask for an immediate BAN on net & bolt:
