PROGRESS OF THE NYS HOME RULE TRAPPING BILL A 5202

Anne M. impressing Jenna of Assm. Scott Stringer's office with NYC petitions against trapping.

Anne Muller and Marion Stark of the Fund lobbied in Albany for the passage of the Home Rule Trapping Bill.

Thanks to Solveig Zaferes and Edith Valborg Schwarz, who tirelessly tabled and collected signatures in NYC, for years, we were able to show thousands of NYC signatures of people opposed to trapping. Solveig gave C.A.S.H./Wildlife Watch the signatures to USE – and that we did – and will!

Wildlife Watch motivated a Memorializing Resolution of the Rockland County Legislature asking the NYS Legislature to pass the Bill. The Home Rule Bill has now passed three committees and is waiting for a vote of the full house.

Please contact your NY Assembly Member to PASS A5202 giving authority to counties to pass their own trapping restrictions or bans.
