Fortunately, Wildlife Watch was called by the
Rockland County Health Department to capture about 30 chickens
who were living outside of someone’s landscaped yard. A less
humane fate was in store for them if we couldn’t. Sadly, the
chickens weren’t wanted there and they were very cold. Thanks
to Marilyn Leybra, Peter Muller, Joe Miele, and Celia
Lindblom, the chickens were all rescued and taken to various
permanent homes in Ulster County. All-in-all over 20 chickens
were rescued and taken to safe homes.

Joe Miele at rescue of wild chickens. Joe is the best chicken catcher this
side of the Rockies!
