According to an Associated Press report, the massive
die-off of elk in Wyoming remains a mystery. Wyoming Game and Fish
Department officials have dismissed the possibility of chronic wasting
disease, as well as many common viral bacterial and toxin causes
for the kill. The report mention investigation into railroad lines
and oil and gas wells, but made no mention of cattle ranching as
a considered source of the mysterious ailment.
