KIRK DOUGLAS IS CONCERNED WITH THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS
His interview in Men’s Journal/Dec. 2007 Issue:
The above photo was sent to us anonymously by a “fan” who obviously has
not had a change of heart. One day this will be a crime.
Kirk Douglas said that the adventure that changed his life was an African
hunting safari. He went to Kenya and “killed an eland and some gazelles and
leopards and mounted them on the wall.” About a year later, he said the
animals were looking at him accusingly, and he thought, “What have I done?
What a stupid thing to shoot an innocent animal for a macho reason.” So he
got rid of the trophies and began to be very concerned with the welfare of
animals. Even now when he thinks of it, it makes him shudder
