Valley Forge Deer-Kill Criticized

Valley Forge is a National Historical Park. Neighbors have concerns about bullets zipping into neighborhoods. Some are concerned about the deer because park officials intend to have federal employees or contractors kill them with high-powered, silencer- equipped rifles, at night. Cohn is a PA State U professor emerita whose group, Pity Not Cruelty, would pay for contraception and special fencing. She said her plan would cost $125,000, a fraction of the cost of killing the deer, but park administration said her proposal was far too small and limited.
